FTTH (fibre-to-the-home) runs fibre all the way to the premises. FTTN (fibre-to-the-node) runs fibre to a nearby node, then uses existing copper for the final stretch. An unbroken fibre path carries more capacity at lower latency, so most new builds run fibre to the premises.
